Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick doesn’t expect to be a backup next season.
Vick doesn’t know where he will play next season, but he is confident he’ll be a Week 1 starter.
“Absolutely,” he said on NFL Network’s Around The League. “I can’t see no other way.”
Vick lost his starting job in Philadelphia to Nick Foles, who went on to throw for 2,891 yards with 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions to become the league’s highest rated passer.
Vick, who suffered a hamstring injury early in the season, was asked if the New York Jets could be an option.
“I don’t know,” he said. “Who knows? What I am is really excited about the opportunity to play again in 2014 and that’s what’s important.”
The 33-year-old Vick signed a one-year deal before last season and will be a free agent this offseason.
