Pittsburgh Steelers new running back LeGarrette Blount is excited about the potential the offense has.
“Oh yeah. It’s going to be an explosive offense,” Blount said, via Steelers.com.
Why will the offense be explosive?
“It’s a power, downhill running game,” he said. “You’ve got a quarterback that has won a couple of Super Bowls and is going to be one of the best to play this game. I like everything about it. It’s dynamic with Antonio Brown, with Dri Archer. It’s going to be good, I like it.”
Blount played in New England last season and see’s similarities between Roethlisberger and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
“He is a really good leader,” Blount said of the Steelers quarterback. “He runs the offense the way he wants to run it. I have seen him make some Tom Brady like throws. I feel like we are in a good spot.”
Blount’s smash-mouth style of running will fit with the Steelers offensive line.
“They’re big, they’re physical. They are aggressive,” Blount said. “I like the fact that they come downhill and love running power plays and plays that are straight forward without all the running sideways. I love that about them.”
Blount, going into his fifth year, will back up second-year back Le’Veon Bell.
“I knew I was going to come here with another guy. We hit it off from the beginning,” said Blount. “He knows his playbook a lot better than I do. I ask him a lot of questions, things like that. He has shown me places to eat. I am learning things from him on and off the football field.
“We get along real well. I go to his house, we hang out and chill. Then we come here and work together. It’s a good situation, a good relationship.”
