NFL quarterbacks have combined for the best three-game passer rating to start any season in league history, and Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson is leading the way.
Wilson has a 108.9 passer rating during the Seahawks 2-1 start, which puts him ahead of Broncos’ Peyton Manning (108.5) and Chargers’ Philip Rivers (108.3), two of the three quarterbacks Seattle has faced this season.
Redskins’ Kirk Cousins (105.8), Falcons’ Matt Ryan (105.1) and Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck (103.0) also have a 100-plus rating.
Wilson has thrown just one interception against six touchdowns. Through three games, the third-year pro has the highest completion percentage (69.0) of his career, completing 60-of-87 passes for 651 yards.
“He’s an amazing football player, he really is,” coach Pete Carroll said of Wilson, via Seahawks.com. “He’s very, very good with the ball,” Carroll said. “We love him. He’s playing great.”
Following Sunday’s 26-20 overtime win against the Broncos, Wilson is 7-0 against Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. In those seven games Wilson has thrown 14 touchdown passes and just one interception.
