Russell Wilson explains why he took a shower during Super Bowl halftime

The Seattle Seahawks scored 21 points in the second half of Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos, even when they were already up 22-0 at halftime.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson explained why he and the team continued their success in the second-half on the Dan Patrick show Tuesday.

“This is what I did at halftime, and a lot guys did too – I took my whole uniform off and took a shower,” said Wilson. “Halftime is about 45 minutes so I took a shower, retaped everything, got my arm stretched again and then we got into a whole ‘nother stretch again.

“That kind of restarted our minds again. So we came out of halftime and it felt like it was a brand new game. So that’s why I think we played so well and everyone was clicking on all cylinders and we played a great football game.”

The Seahawks opened the second half with an 87-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Percy Harvin.
