Jared Allen to consider offer with Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks and free agent defensive end Jared Allen are working on the final details of a contract, reports ESPN’s Ed Werder.

The former Minnesota Vikings pass rusher had 52 tackles, 11.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2013.  In 10 NFL seasons, Allen has recorded 128.5 sacks.

Allen would join a Seahawks defense that led the NFL in fewest points and yards allowed, and created the most turnovers in the league.

Allen’s contract will likely be for less than what DeMarcus Ware and Julius Peppers signed for this month.

The Seahawks re-signed defensive end Michael Bennett but released Chris Clemons this offseason.
