Tyrann Mathieu enrolls at LSU

LSU head coach Les Miles confirmed to the media on Tuesday that Tyrann Mathieu had enrolled at LSU while Mathieu let the LSU student paper, The Daily Reveille, know that he was back.

“I’m just focusing on academics right now and really myself,” Mathieu said. “I’m not worried too much about football.”

“I’m finished with that treatment phase and it went well,” Mathieu said. “A lot of issues that I was dealing with, I felt like I got those things handled.”

WVUE-TV first reported that Mathieu would enroll at LSU on Tuesday, after four weeks from being dismissed from the Tigers for multiple substance abuse violations.

Mathieu will not be eligible to play for the Tigers in 2012 but will have a chance to join the team in 2013 or can choose to enter the NFL Draft in April.

Mathieu has completed the first two stages of his rehabilitation in Houston and will complete the third stage while he is a student at LSU.
