Raiders’ Mike Goodson suffers neck injury at practice

Oakland Raiders running back Mike Goodson was taken away by ambulance following a helmet-to-helmet collision with teammate Philip Wheeler during a practice in Napa, Calif.

Goodson laid on the field for about 15 minutes as Raiders teammates and trainers rushed over to him on Tuesday, reports NFL.com.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Goodson suffered a neck injury, but did have feeling in his extremities.

Goodson’s facemask was removed, but the rest of his helmet stayed intact as he was strapped to a backboard and loaded into an ambulance.

The Raiders acquired Goodson in an offseason trade with the Panthers. He has been competing for the backup running back spot against Taiwan Jones.
