NFL Week 14 FanDuel/DraftKings projections

With only four weeks remaining in the regular season, it won’t be long before the world of daily fantasy sports turns its collective attention from football to basketball. But without a playoff format to follow or a roster to manage, there’s no reason why we can’t cash in before it’s all over.

Last week, solid performances from a variety of my ”start” selections such as Brandon Marshall, Odell Beckham Jr., and Greg Olsen helped to ease the pain that was still lingering from several bad calls in Weeks 11 and 12. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean that I’ll strike oil in Week 14.

Following five straight lackluster outings that sent fantasy addicts running, Buffalo’s Tyrod Taylor bounced back during the last two weeks with consecutive three-touchdown performances against Kansas City and Houston, making the fifth-year pro one of this week’s top starts in all formats.

Facing Philadelphia’s suspect secondary this Sunday has only added to Taylor’s appeal. But while the stats don’t really support it, I’d avoid Taylor on the road against a desperate opponent despite the fantasy totals he’s posted outside of Buffalo thus far.

As I often say, there’s no reason to chase a great performance from any player, especially one as inconsistent as Taylor, when we can literally start anybody. Taylor will cost you $7,500 on this week, and there’s plenty of similarly-salaried quarterbacks with better match-ups.

Despite the opinions of several well-known fantasy experts, starting C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman against a porous San Diego Chargers’ defense after both produced in Week 12 didn’t pay off last week. And Taylor could potentially be this week’s most popular bust.

That’s enough rambling for now. As always, the prices listed below are from both and, and shown in that order [FD-DK].
