Michigan State-Boise State highlights

Michigan State’s defense held Boise State to 62 yards of offense and zero points in the second half as the Spartans rallied in the fourth quarter, winning 17-13, at Spartan Stadium.

Spartans running back Le’Veon Bell set a career-high 210 yards rushing with 2 touchdowns on 44 carries. He also caught six passes for 55 yards.

Michigan State quarterback Andrew Maxwell leaned on Bell as the passing game struggled. He threw three interceptions with one returned for a touchdown by Boise State’s Jeremy Loane.

Michigan State scored the only touchdown in the second half on a nine play, 56-yard drive. With 7:43 left in the game, Bell capped off the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run.

Trailing 17-13, Boise State’s Joe Southwick was unable to complete a pass on fourth down at the Spartans 42-yard line. Michigan State took over and drove the ball down the field until time expired.
