Chicago Bears re-sign RB Kahlil Bell

The Chicago Bears starting running back Matt Forte went down with a high ankle sprain on Thursday night against the Packers forcing the team to find another back, which they did on Saturday by resigning Kahlil Bell.

“I’m taking my talents back to Chicago,” Bell tweeted. “So happy to be back. Never wanted to leave.”

The Bears waived safety Jeremy Jones to make room for Bell on the 53-man roster.

Bell will sign a one-year deal for the league minimum. He was cut by the Bears in August for not taking a pay cut from $1.26 million to $700,000.

The Bears reportedly worked out Steve Slaton but leaned toward Bell as he is more familiar with the offense.
