The Dallas Stars retired Mike Modano’s No. 9 on Saturday night before beating the Minnesota Wild 4-3.
Modano retired as the most productive American-born player in the history of the NHL in 2011. His 561 goals and 1,374 points are the most by any U.S. born player in the league.
Modano was joined by his family and many former Stars teammates. Also at the arena were several Dallas sports legends including Cowboys greats Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach and Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki, among others.
