Forward Chris Kreider and the New York Rangers have avoided a salary arbitration hearing by agreeing Wednesday to a two-year contract worth nearly $5 million, according to multiple media reports.
Kreider will reportedly make $2.35 million for the 2014-15 season and $2.6 million in 2015-16.
The 23-year-old Kreider had 17 goals and 37 points in 66 games last season. He also had five goals and 13 points in 15 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
The Rangers selected Kreider with the 19th pick in the 2009 NHL Draft.
