Kings’ Jordan Nolan suspended one game for punching opponent

The NHL announced Monday that Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Nolan has been suspended for one game, without pay, for punching Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Joensuu, during Sunday’s game.

The incident occurred in the second period. Nolan was assessed a double-minor penalty for roughing.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Nolan will forfeit $3,589.74. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
