Jimmy Fallon: Tonight Show Superlatives

Fallon Mocks NHL Players in Annual Tradition

There are many traditions in the NHL. Playoff beards, handshakes, and overtimes make up most of each postseason.

Some are new, like Jimmy Fallon mocking players’ faces on The Tonight Show.

That’s right, it’s time for

another edition of Tonight Show Superlatives, in which Fallon hands out high-school yearbook awards to NHL players based on their headshots. Like photos, not a “questionable hit” of the Raffi Torres variety.

Among the victims in this edition: Victor Hedman of the Tampa Bay Lightning; Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals; Carter Hutton of the Nashville Predators; Alex Goligoski; and Joe Thornton of the San Jose Sharks.

Good for a few laughs, we think this is a tradition we’d like to see stick around a while.
