Los Angeles Kings forward Dustin Brown has been suspended for two games, without pay, for elbowing Minnesota Wild forward Jason Pominville on Tuesday, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
“Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Brown will forfeit $34,324.32. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.”
Brown was not assessed a penalty for the second-period hit in the Kings’ 2-1 loss to the Wild. Brown will miss the Kings final two regular-season games.
The Kings have secured a playoff spot and currently sit in fourth place in the Western Conference with 57 points.
