Colorado Avalanche forward P.A. Parenteau will be lost for the regular season because of a knee injury suffered in Monday night’s 3-2 overtime win against the Winnipeg Jets.
Avalanche coach Patrick Roy says Parenteau will need four to six weeks to recover.
Parenteau was injured after taking a hit from Jets defenseman Mark Stuart.
COlorado was already without center Paul Stastny, who suffered a back ailment Saturday against St. Louis.
The 30-year-old Parenteau has 14 goals and 33 points this season. The Avs have recalled forwards Paul Carey and Brad Malone from the American Hockey League to replace Stastny and Parenteau.
Colorado has 89 points with 16 games remaining.
