Seattle Seahawks clinch NFC’s No. 1 seed

The Seattle Seahawks clinched the the NFC West championship after failing on two previous occasions.

The Seahawks will have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a 27-9 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday at CenturyLink Field.

Russell Wilson finished 15 of 23 for 172 yards and a touchdown for the Seahawks. Malcolm Smith returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown, Marshawn Lynch added a 2-yard scoring run.

Lynch finished with 97 yards on 23 carries.

The Seahawks will now have a bye next weekend before hosting a divisional round playoff game on either Jan. 11 or 12 against either the Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers or New Orleans Saints.
