Report: Michael Vick to visit Jets

The New York Jets are scheduled to meet with free-agent quarterback Michael Vick this weekend, reports

The Jets are looking for an experienced backup that can mentor and compete with Geno Smith.  Vick spent four seasons with Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg when he was in Philadelphia.

The Jets are expected to release quarterback Mark Sanchez, who is due a $2 million roster bonus on March 25 and has a $13.1 million cap charge.

If the Jets are unable to sign Vick this weekend, they will be in a tough situation with Sanchez.

The 33-year-old Vick played in seven games last season and lost his job to Nick Foles.
