New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola is not likely to play Thursday against the New York Jets, reports Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.
Amendola aggravated his groin in the first half of Sunday’s 23-21 win over the Buffalo Bills.
As a disclaimer, players arrived in bunches, weren’t wearing uniforms and didn’t actually take the field until the media departed, so there is room for error in the media attendance report. The Patriots will release the official practice report at 4 p.m.
The Patriots aren’t practicing in pads this week, so the walkthroughs are vital for the installation of the game plan. If Amendola, or any player, doesn’t participate to at least observe, it’s hard to imagine him playing in the actual game.
Amendola caught 10 passes for 104 yards Sunday.
Amendola battled through a groin injury, leaving and returning. He’s almost certain to miss Thursday. Hurts with Vereen out, Sudfeld ailing
