The San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Anquan Boldin are negotiating a multi-year contract extension, reports Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com.
The 49ers acquired Boldin in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens and paid him $6 million in 2013. The team hopes to re-sign Boldin before March 8, the date when free agents can begin negotiating with other teams.
Boldin finished his first season in San Francisco with 85 receptions for 1,179 yards and seven touchdowns. He also led the Niners in receiving throughout the postseason.
Boldin will turn 34 in October and is expected to line up opposite Michael Crabtree in 2014.
