Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are once again considered serious contenders to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. They are also currently favored to win the NFC North division title. If they want to have a shot at a championship this season, the Packers will need their offense firing on all cylinders.
One of the big offseason pickups that Green Bay made was bringing in Jared Cook in free agency. He is a major upgrade at the position over Richard Rodgers and will be a key target for his superstar quarterback.
Rodgers talked about Cook in a recent interview with Sirius NFL Radio and made it clear that he is excited to play with his new tight end.

Cook didn’t have a great season last year with the St. Louis Rams. He has had big years in the past, but is hoping that his change of scenery to Green Bay with the best quarterback in the NFL can help him turn his career around.
At 6-foot-5 and 254 pounds, Cook is nearly impossible for any opposing linebacker to defend. He is too big for opposing defensive backs to defend as well. Green Bay will utilize him often and he will be a perfect security blanket for Rodgers within the offense.
Green Bay’s offense should rebound nicely from last season’s disappointment. Jordy Nelson will return to the field from his ACL tear and Randall Cobb should get back on track as well. Ty Montgomery, Davante Adams, and Jeff Janis are also serious threats against opposing teams.
Expect to see Cook fit in perfectly with the Packers and to make Rodgers even more dangerous. Having that kind of size and speed at the tight end position is rare.
Rodgers should be excited to play with Cook and it is good to see him openly talking about it.
