Mike Tomlin says Isaac Redman will start, Jarvis Jones will play

Oakland Raiders v Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin made it official on Tuesday that Isaac Redman would start against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

“We know what Isaac is capable of,” said Tomlin, via the team’s website. “He has answered the bell for us in the past. We expect him to do it in a big way moving forward, starting this weekend.”

Tomlin has ruled rookie Le’Veon Bell out for Sunday’s game, even though he’s no longer wearing a walking boot.

“Not from a health standpoint, but young guys like him have to practice in order to be able to participate,” said Tomlin. At the very best he will be a partial participant (in practice) this week.”

Tomlin also said LaRod Stephens-Howling and Felix Jones will handle kickoff returns, while Antonio Brown and Marcus Wheaton will handle the punt return duties.

Jason Worilds will start at right outside linebacker but rookie Jarvis Jones will also play.

Tight end Heath Miller was activated from the PUP list on Monday, his return to the field has yet to be determined.

We’ll keep a close eye on him, not only in terms of what he does but how his body responds to it will be an indicator of his readiness,” said Tomlin. “We will monitor that day-to-day.”

Seeing that Tomlin knows what Redman is capable of and the great production this preseason that enabled him vault to the number 1 position on the depth chart. How can anyone doubt our running game with our new and improved offensive line employing a new aged zone blocking scheme. I would think 250 – 350 yards rushing should be no problem. This will finally be the year where we become that power running team that no other team has a chance of stopping.
