LaMichael James frustrated with 49ers: ‘I’m not trying to be insurance’

Running back LaMichael James is frustrated with the San Francisco 49ers over his limited playing time.

James was inactive for the team’s first three games this season before carrying the ball three times for zero yards in Week 4 against the St. Louis Rams.

“Some things I just don’t understand at all,” James wrote on Twitter, per Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. “I don’t work at State Farm, I’m not trying to be insurance.”

James was a second-round pick in 2012 and filled in for injured backup running back Kendall Hunter in his rookie season.

James won’t be seeing much paying time this year as Frank Gore remains the best option running the ball, Colin Kaepernick takes carries away from the backs and Hunter is a better option as a backup.
