Jay Ratliff

The Dallas Cowboys have terminated the contract of defensive tackle Jay Ratliff placing him on the failed physical list from Reserve/PUP (Physically Unable to Perform).

Ratliff was eligible to come off the PUP list this week after suffering a hamstring injury in training camp, but Jerry Jones and the Cowboys decided to cut ties with the eight-year veteran Wednesday afternoon.

Ratliff made four straight Pro Bowls from 2008-11, but played only six games last season, recording just 25 tackles and no sacks.

Ratliff signed a a five-year extension that totaled out to $48.6 million.  The Cowboys will pay the majority of his $10.268 million cap charge next year.
