Tennessee Titans safety Bernard Pollard tweeted Wednesday that the NFL has fined him $42,000 for his hit on Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson last Sunday that resulted in a concussion for the wideout.
So @nfl said I did “everything right” but 42k later I still get fined. Wow! It’s called football but they want 2 hand touch. #TitanUp#

The hit happened late in the fourth quarter of the Titans’ 30-24 overtime loss to the Texans at Reliant Stadium.
A source told ESPN that Pollard was fined for hitting a defenseless receiver in the head with his shoulder. A penalty was not called on the play.
This is Pollard’s second fine since joining the Titans, who joined the team this offseason after he was cut by the Baltimore Ravens.
Pollard was fined $10,000 for a late hit out of bounds in the team’s first preseason game against the Washington Redskins.
