Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook will undergo surgery in a couple of days for a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee.
Wesbrook is out indefinitely with no timetable for his return.
Westbrook was injured in the second quarter of Game 2 of the Thunder’s first-round series against the Houston Rockets when he ran into Rockets guard Patrick Beverley. Westbrook finished the game with 29 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals as the Thunder went up 2-0 in the series.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace returned in 12 days from a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee this season.
