Russell Westbrook will undergo surgery for meniscus tear

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook will undergo surgery in a couple of days for a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee.

Wesbrook is out indefinitely with no timetable for his return.

Westbrook was injured in the second quarter of Game 2 of the Thunder’s first-round series against the Houston Rockets when he ran into Rockets guard Patrick Beverley. ¬†Westbrook finished the game with 29 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals as the Thunder went up 2-0 in the series.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace returned in 12 days from a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee this season.
