The Orlando Magic have been very adamant about looking for a young point guard this offseason to pair with Victor Oladipo for the future. Isaiah Thomas is a name that has come up lately in potential free agency talks if the Magic are unable to acquire a point guard that they like in the NBA Draft.
Reports have surfaced in recent weeks that the Magic will select Dante Exum with the fourth pick in the draft if he falls to them, but that might not happen.
.@mtownbulldog: any chance magic make Isaiah Thomas an offer? —> very possible, especially if they do not pull a PG from the draft

This move would be extremely interesting for the Magic to make, and might very well be the type of move that helps them get back into playoff contention in the near future. Thomas proved last season that he was capable of scoring the basketball at a high level and also improved his playmaking ability for his teammates as well. If the Magic do sign him, he’s going to have an even bigger chance to prove himself to the rest of the NBA and would have the freedom to score at the level that he’s capable.
Thomas played in 72 games last season with the Kings, starting in 54 of those appearances. He averaged 20.3 points, 6.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game, and also chipped in on the defensive end with 1.3 steals per game. His ability to score the basketball was proved by his scoring average, but he has more potential given more shots playing away from DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay.
Overall, this would be a very interesting move to see the Magic make. They would have one of the best up-and-coming back-courts int he NBA, and Thomas would be able to unleash his full ability on the court. That being said, there are plenty of teams that want to sign Thomas this offseason and the Magic will have heavy competition to get him.
