Kings make trade offer for Eric Bledsoe

Eric Bledsoe

The Sacramento Kings are looking to make some big moves this offseason and they have already been talking about a trade that would change their future in a big way.

According to a report from Jake Fischer of the Boston Globe, the Kings have offered a trade to the Phoenix Suns that included guard Eric Bledsoe. Fischer mentioned that the trade offer was the #8 overall pick in the draft and Isaiah Thomas.

That trade offer certainly is an intriguing one to think about for the Suns, and it might very well be close to enough to make them pull the trigger. Bledsoe is one heck of a player, but he has had some health issues and been a bit inconsistent at times. Thomas may not be as talented as Bledsoe, but he does have the potential and has proven to be a very solid starting point guard capable of putting up consistent big numbers.

Thomas played in 72 games last season with the Kings, starting in 54 of those appearances. He averaged 20.3 points, 6.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game, while also chipping in 1.3 steals per game on the defensive end. His ability to score at a high level and play up-tempo basketball would fit what the Suns would ask of him, and he likely would be able to take his game to the next level in their system.

Bledsoe played in just 43 games last season due to injury issues, starting in 40 of those appearances. He averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game, and showed the ability to fit perfectly into what the Suns are trying to do. They have been very adamant that they want to bring him back next season, but a trade offer like this might just change their mind.

Overall, this is a very intriguing trade offer to say the very least. Thomas is a talented young point guard with a bright future, and the #8 pick is going to be a very good player as well. The Suns still could change their mind and move Bledsoe for the right price, but this type of offer certainly makes things interesting to keep an eye on to say the least.
