Timberwolves star Kevin Love says Minnesota has a better team and better foundation than the Los Angeles Lakers.
“People think it’s so far-fetched that I would stay in Minnesota,” Love told GQ Magazine. “And I’m not shitting on the Lakers, but we have the better team, the better foundation. I’m having fun.”
Love, 25, will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2015 and figures to draw interest from several teams, including the Lakers.
The Lakers and Dallas Mavericks are reportedly in talks about a potential trade involving Love.
Love, born in Santa Monica, Calif., is averaging 25.8 points and 13.2 rebounds this season.
The Timberwolves are currently 25-28, six games outside of a playoff spot. The Lakers are 18-35 this season.
