Top overall NBA draft pick Andrew Wiggins just wants to play where he’s wanted.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been reported as the only team with a chance to land forward Kevin Love. But in order to acquire the All-Star, the Cavaliers will likely have to send a package that includes Wiggins to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
“I just want to play for a team that wants me. So whichever team wants me I’ll play for,” he told ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” from Tarrytown, New York.
Cleveland signed Wiggins to a four-year deal on July 24. They will have to wait at least 30 days to trade him.
Wiggins, 19, isn’t taking his name being rumored in trade talks personal.
“At the end of the day you have to remember that the NBA is a business before anything. I’m a rookie. I really don’t have too much say,” he said.
Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that a trade of Love is likely to happen by Aug. 23 or Aug. 24. Wiggins is eligible to be traded on Aug. 23.
