Tigers Woods could boycott Golf Channel interviews

Last week, Brandel Chamblee essentially called Tiger Woods a cheater in his column for Golf.com.  Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg of Excel Sports Management, threatened legal action.  And now Ed Sherman writes that Woods could boycott Golf Channel interviews, where Chamblee works.

“Woods, though, will be looking to get even, and that could put the Golf Channel in the line of fire. There’s not much he can do to get back at Golf.com. The magazine and site weren’t getting any exclusive interviews anyway.

“Woods, though, does appear regularly on interviews during tournaments with the Golf Channel. Chamblee’s main work is with the Golf Channel.

“I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that Woods might pull an interview boycott with the Golf Channel–at least at the events where Chamblee is on site as an analyst, which are quite a few. It would be a way for the Woods camp to make Chamblee feel the heat.”

It’ll be interesting to see if Woods avoids Golf Channel reporters during tournaments.

Chamblee is standing by his comments.

“I’m paid to have and give an opinion, and I work hard to form those opinions based upon facts, not agenda,” he said via Golf.com. “I don’t always get it right but I’m always trying to get it right. And I know the people I work for know that.”

“I don’t feel I’m the one that needs to justify the ‘F.’ The BMW video does it for me, followed by Tiger’s silence — until confronted — and then by his denials in the face of incontestable evidence to the contrary of his petitions,” Chamblee said. “To say nothing of the fact that he was disrespecting his position in golf, the traditions of golf and his fellow competitors, in my opinion.”

Update: Chamblee apologized Tuesday via Twitter.

Golf Channel should Boycott Tiger Wood I think and believe that wood is a cheat and has damage the PGA.

I support Mr. Chamblee and appreciate his tenacity to report the facts. The PGA has created a “GOD” they worship. The tour should be renamed “THE TIGER WOODS TOUR”. He was caught on tape cheating, he admitted on TV taking an illegal drop and we certainly know of his cheating on the mother of his children and deceiving his fans…………..I pray maybe someday the Golf World will call him out for what he is…………very selfish individual, with very low morals and no regard for any rules he feels that does not pertain to him or being the “GOD” on the PGA Tour and everyone else can kiss his b_____ ASS!!!!

Robert that sounds a bit racist. I for one will not take someone seriously if they can’t leave race out of it. Example: I don’t take Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or the KKK, or the Aryan Brotherhood seriously, now you just made that small but distinguished list.
