Jason Day won his first career major title Sunday  at the 2015 PGA Championship.  He also became the first player in history to finish 20 under, breaking the record set by Tiger Woods in 2000 at the British Open (-19).

Day is now the 11th Australian golfer to win a major championship.  The 27-year-old Australian beat Jordan Spieth by three shots.

Day shot 5-under 67 and never let Spieth get closer than two shots.  Spieth will overtake Rory McIlroy for the No. 1 spot in the world rankings after finishing solo second.

Branden Grace shot 69 to finish solo third. Justin Rose finished solo fourth with a final-round 70.

McIlroy finished solo 17th in his return from his ankle injury.
